Slambovia on Facebook
The Slambovian Embassy has successfully negotiated and signed all necessary treaties allowing us to finally establish our official presence on Facebook. We're still getting accustomed to the new building and all the space (Chen has his own office!), so post your posts and blog your blogs, and do whatever other creative pursuits people do whilst there, all under the entrusted auspices of the Slambovian Embassy. And we've also traded successfully with the neighboring Nation of Reverb (now known simply as ReverbNation) for one of their so-called 'pop-up' music playing widgets that you can place on your facebook profile. We've also uploaded dozens of live and studio recordings, an animated tour map widget, and the 'My Band" tab up top has lots of further enhancements. More contraptions are on the way as we'll make an effort to keep the ships sailing regularly with fresh bounty from the shores of Slambovia. So take a moment to post a post and let us know how great you now think the Internet is.

Slambovia in Denver
It was a great night for Slambovians* in Denver on Saturday at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House**. It was an honor to be able to meet and hear performers like Rickie Lee Jones, Hot Rize, Leo Kottke, and all the others on the stage that night for the Swallow Hill RootsFest. Thanks to the Swallow Hill Music Association for inviting us to perform and we're hoping to get back to Denver in '09 and make it a regular stop.
*Thanks to the native eastcoast Slambovians seen in attendance as well.
**We're searching for photos to post from this night. If you were there and have any worth sharing please send them to 'images@slambovia.com'. We might also have some audio from this show to post soon.

Mummer's the Word - Dirty Linen
Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams
Mummer's the Word
by CHRIS KOCHER
[ Excerpt from the print edition of Dirty Linen #141 (May/June 2009) ]
Every New Year's Day in Philadelphia, the Mummers Parade winds its way down Broad Street through the heart of the city. Elaborately dressed, hoisting umbrellas, and dancing to joyful music, these thousands of colorful jesters share an uplifting message: Cast off your cares, put on a smile, and step into the possibilities of a new tomorrow.
Across the Schuylkill River, a new tradition has emerged in recent years: Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams' annual "New Year's Eve Eve" celebration. The World Café concert -- which sells out months in advance -- is a hometown gig for frontman and songwriter Joziah Longo, and that only magnified the band's alchemic energy last year. [read more...]

New home for The Ministry of Information
The Technology Support Team for the Slambovian Ministry of Information has just finished converting our old 'Slambovian News' over to this new blog format. Sure, there were a few busted springs and gears along the way, but we've got a good team here (pictured below), and we hope it will be a more timely and dynamic way to deliver our dispatches. Visitors can now post comments on the articles, and also have new posts delivered to them via the RSS subscription links down on the right. Many thanks to the whole team!

Infinity Hall, Norfolk, CT
A phenomenal restoration, a great venue staff, great local radio stations, and an outstanding crowd all helped make for a special night at this spectacular venue. Thanks to everyone who crowded in for our first appearance here. So as we all hurtle towards the infinite, we'll look forward to more pit stops in Norfolk. And special thanks to WKZE in Red Hook, NY, and WBCR in Great Barrington, MA, for helping put the word out. 'The Great Unravel' UK Review
"Following from the magnificent double-disc sprawl of Flapjacks From The Sky this third album can only disappoint, one may suppose. Gladly though there’s nary a scant cause or trace of such cynicism aboard the good ship Slambovia as their spectacularly starry-skied spaceploration psychedelic folk-pop resonates with hopes and truths."
