Slambovia in Denver

It was a great night for Slambovians* in Denver on Saturday at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House**. It was an honor to be able to meet and hear performers like Rickie Lee Jones, Hot Rize, Leo Kottke, and all the others on the stage that night for the Swallow Hill RootsFest. Thanks to the Swallow Hill Music Association for inviting us to perform and we're hoping to get back to Denver in '09 and make it a regular stop.

*Thanks to the native eastcoast Slambovians seen in attendance as well.

**We're searching for photos to post from this night. If you were there and have any worth sharing please send them to 'images@slambovia.com'. We might also have some audio from this show to post soon.

Across the Schuylkill River, a new tradition has emerged in recent years: Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams' annual "New Year's Eve Eve" celebration. The World Café concert -- which sells out months in advance -- is a hometown gig for frontman and songwriter Joziah Longo, and that only magnified the band's alchemic energy last year. New home for The Ministry of Information

The Technology Support Team for the Slambovian Ministry of Information has just finished converting our old 'Slambovian News' over to this new blog format. Sure, there were a few busted springs and gears along the way, but we've got a good team here (pictured below), and we hope it will be a more timely and dynamic way to deliver our dispatches. Visitors can now post comments on the articles, and also have new posts delivered to them via the RSS subscription links down on the right. Many thanks to the whole team!

And special thanks to WKZE in Red Hook, NY, and WBCR in Great Barrington, MA, for helping put the word out.
